As all consumers present diverse needs and personal goals, the level of supervision provided is individualized. Employment specialists provide on-going formative assessment to determine the level of support needed for each program participant through the use of skill based checklists, on-site observations, and collaboration with employers and program participants. Through analysis of these assessments, supervision needs are determined and accommodations are implemented to enhance the employee’s ability to perform their job responsibilities.
Supervision provided through the program ranges from monthly visits to on-site intensive job coaching. This component of the program provides participants with access to employment specialists to support them in attaining their vocational goals. Through consistent feedback, modeling, and physical/verbal prompting, participants learn the skills necessary to be successful in a competitive work environment.
